The Flexible and Durable Penn 209 Fishing Reel
The retro look of the Penn 209 Fishing Reel is why most anglers buy them in the first place. The reel isn’t anything too fancy and features just practically the basics with an old world feel. Considering the fairly low price, however, the Penn 209 Fishing Reel does deliver more than is expected in terms of reliability and durabiliy. I use my reel primarily for salmon fishing throughout the summer months; however, the Penn 209 Fishing Reel makes a great freshwater striper reel and is also particularly suited for trolling. In fact, I often match the reel with one of the excellent products under the Depthmaster Trolling Series Rods. It is a fairly basic reel that is redeemed by its durability. In fact, my Penn 209 Fishing Reel has outlasted newer and more highly technical models.
